ABOUT MILLIE TURNADO.
At the age of 9, Millie started her colourful path in a youth circus in Berlin. After joining a pre professional youth circus program in the US for one year, and paddling on a bicycle 10000 km around the world, she decided that she would like to explore the wheel from a different angle.
She fell in love with the Cyr Wheel, which takes her since then on an interesting research journey of spinning, falling und turning. Staying in the circular family, hula hoops encouraged Millie to find her personal language of movement and liberty of expression.
Millie has performed on notable stages, including the Berlin Circus Festival and Hamburg State Opera, and contributes to the contemporary circus company “7 Women”. She also values the authenticity of street performances with her company “Balades Perdues,” where she enjoys the raw, direct interaction with people in public spaces.
Her artistic inspiration comes from diverse sources: writing morning pages, visiting her grand mother and her commitment to feminist ideals. After training at the circus school DIE ETAGE, she graduated in 2021 and explores since then the boundaries of circus within the performance field.
If you’d like to be a part of Millie’s artistic journey, on or off stage, reach out and join the spin!
